Minimize Damage to your Contents
- Paintings on Canvas: Remove frame if unstable. Transport vertically with cardboard in between. Transport flat if there is loose paint.
- Works on Paper: Lay flat, glass side down. Do not remove mat or glass if sticking.
- Photographs: Hold by edges or margins only. Keep photos or negatives in fresh cold water (up to 48 hrs) until freeze dried.
- Furniture: Dry slowly to prevent warping and cracking. Cover in loosely wrapped polyethylene sheeting allowing good air circulation.
- Books: Pack books in boxes spine facing down, interleave freezer paper between books. Pack books tightly, make arrangements to have them frozen immediately.
